Kōtare Flax Bouquet
The Kingfisher or “kōtare” in Te Reo (Maori) is a fairly small but distinctive bird with a green-blue back, a yellow underside and a large black bill. It has a broad black eye-stripe, and adults sport a white collar.
The kōtare is native to New Zealand, but it is not endangered. Rather it can be found throughout the country in a wide range of habitats, including forest, river margins, farmland, lakes, estuaries and rocky coastlines.
Artiflax's Kōtare Flax Bouquet was inspired by the Kingfisher’s beautiful, vibrant feathers.
This hand-tied flax bouquet contains a variety of flax flowers in shades of green, turquoise, blue and yellow. It is wrapped with blue fabric and a bright lime green abaca, then finished off beautifully with a cobalt blue ribbon.
The Kōtare Flax Bouquet is available in 3 sizes
Small: Contains approx 10 flax flowers. Length approx 50cm
Medium: Contains approx 20 flax flowers. Length approx 70cm
Large: Contains approx 30 flax flowers. Length approx 90cm
