Hapene Flax

Hapene Flax

Hapene is a unique net-like textile made from the leaf of the New Zealand flax plant, or harakeke. Aesthetically beautiful and entirely natural, Hapene is exclusively New Zealand designed and produced, using a special method which releases the muka or fibre within the flax leaf.

Furthermore, the harakeke plant is considered sacred by the Maori people of New Zealand, who for centuries have used it to heal, protect and shelter from the elements.  It is this "life-sustaining' and 'life-enhancing' quality which makes harakeke sacred, the same quality contained within Hapene.
